"Estimation with Meyer-Type Wavelets"

Abstract:

In the last decade, wavelets have been applied to a number of statistical problems. However, the majority of the techniques that were developed are based on wavelets with a bounded support. The present talk considers statistical applications of another large class of wavelets, Meyer-type wavelets, which have a bounded bandwidth. The solutions of several estimation problems are studied: density estimation, deconvolution problem, nonparametric empirical Bayes estimation.
