UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
  • Anticipated start date: Anytime

Duke undergraduates interested in opportunities for research experience in scientific and statistical modelling/computation in hard, challenging problems in areas such as genomics, systems biology and finance should contact me directly. Grant support is available for undergrads interested in exploring these areas with faculty, postdoc and graduate student mentors.

Background preparation and interests should include talents and abilities in core mathematics (linear algebra and multivariable calculus), exposure to probability and statistics, and a serious orientation around maths and computing for scientific problem solving. Expertise in Matlab will be advantageous.

Opportunities also exist in connection with our NCI systems biology center (both at Duke and elsewhere) especially for summer internships.
